"Capital Follies" a 7:84 Theatre Company production was commissioned  by The Dumbarton District Arts Working Group, part of the Dumbarton Quality of Life Experiment, one of four Government Experimental Initiatives in the United Kingdom to find ways of improving the quality of urban life..The brief was to research, write and produce a show based on a local theme and perform in community meeting places, such as village halls and leisure centres in order to appeal to a wider audience than the normal theatre going public..From May to July 1975 the company spent five weeks preparing, four weeks touring putting on a total of 28 performances.
