Balloch Castle, the starting point for the 2009 Argyll Classoc Car Run..Two routes were on offer to the 58 starters, a short route that stayed within the perimeter of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park travelling from Balloch to Aberfoyle, through the Dukes Pass and The Trossachs to join to join the A84 at Kilmahog. North through Strathyre and Glen Ogle, turning West on the A85 at Lix Toll through Glen Dochart to turn South onto th A82 at  Crianlarich and back to Balloch..The longer route started as the short route until Lix Toll where the entrants turned East through Killin then along Loch Tay to Kenmore where they turned nirth op the Srath of Appin via Keltneyburn to Tummel Bridge then on past Loch Errochty to join the the A9 at Dalnadorich fir the final stretch to Dalwhinie in  Cairngorm National Park in total a journey of 97 miles. The crews were then challenged to get back to Balloch by the shortest route. Only 8 of the entrants chode the short route.
